Boobpedia Review

Running since 2007 with 48,097 featured women, this is a genuine wiki rather than a database wearing wiki clothing. Editing help, a policy page, disclaimers and a request-an-article route are all linked from the front, which means the rules for contributing are written down and the gaps have a way of being reported.

The categorisation is smarter than the subject suggests. Alongside the obvious physical categories sit indexes by publication, by website, by profession — adult models, booby dancers, exotic dancers, webcam models, B-movie actresses — and a today-in-history feature. Someone has thought about how this material is actually looked up.

The standing weakness of any wiki applies. Coverage is uneven, with well-tended entries sitting beside stubs, and the subject is defined narrowly by definition, so it complements a general performer index rather than replacing one. Within its own boundaries it is careful, open about its rules, and maintained by people who care.
